Young:

Starting this journey to this beautiful city, that God is getting ready to pour His spirit out to, has brought me to a deeper level of trusting, and being confident not in myself but in God, and in my relationship with the Lord. I remember six months ago, the itching feeling of my calling kept getting my attention, but even more the whisper of Brussels kept getting louder as well. I had a hard time believing for a while that this could be true, because of how young I'am and let alone believing that this could actually happen. I didn't think it was possible that a young woman like me could be on this journey. Many thoughts would go through my head that I had to battle through. My prayers would consistently ask the Lord questions. Asking Him how He could call me to go, if it was really time, and how I at such a young age would be equipped or even qualified to do mission work overseas....But I took a leap of faith, and began to put action into my faith. Putting one foot forward, taking each step into the unknown. It truly has felt like I'm walking on water, my eyes are fixed on Jesus and letting myself to only have ears to hear His voice.

"12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you"
1 Timothy 4:12-14

We often forget the influence we have among people as young adults. We can't forget that we have been given gifts and talents by the one and only Spirit of Godwho is in all of us who have been set apart by the Lord regardless of age. What sets us apart from the crowed is not our gifts but our faithfulness to Him, our hearts being after His own heart, our ability to endure and BELIEVE, and our ability to LOVE. This is what pleases the Lord, what sets us apart for the calling we each receive in our own individual lives.

That is why God said this to Joshua early on, and why I believe I came upon this scripture in Joshua before my 2nd step and 2nd trip to Belgium and Candidate Orientation.

"All your life, no one will be able to hold out against you. In the same way I was with Moses, I’ll be with you. I won’t give up on you; I won’t leave you. Strength! Courage! You are going to lead this people to inherit the land that I promised to give their ancestors. Give it everything you have, heart and soul. Make sure you carry out The Revelation that Moses commanded you, every bit of it. Don’t get off track, either left or right, so as to make sure you get to where you’re going. And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed. Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.”"

Joshua 1: 5-9 (MSG)

The calling is there for us, we have all been born with PURPOSE, we are all here to be part of the greater Story that our God has written, and each of us have a unique part to play in. Yet nothing more matters than to bear the image of Christ, who is the Word, and we must live expressing the Word in every action in our lives. Our calling can only bring fruit when we are ultimately walking in His Word. When I read this scripture it brought great comfort because the Lord had reminded that as long as my eyes are fixed on Him, and I'm walking in His Word, He that has led me into this calling and journey will continue to successfully lead me where I need to be. Nothing else matters beyond this, not my age, not my talents, not what people say, not even money matters, because He is with me wherever I go.

This is what makes me so passionate about the young, and what the Lord has put in my heart to help the young in Brussels, Belgium SEE. It is that He is is in control, and all we are asked to do is to let Him be our Lord, and everything about Him CONSUME everything about us. To let our lives no longer be about us, but about the Father's business. And as we do this the reward is the love, joy, peace that is given by His Spirit when we accept His Son that eternally we will never apart from.
